Another fantastic Saturday at the SSGC
We had another fantastic day at the Harry Gregg Foundation Small Sided Games Centre this past Saturday 2nd April 2022.
The HGF welcomed 114 teams -around 1300 children – to the Ulster University pitches in Coleraine, hosting 57 matches, refereed by 19 of our brilliant volunteers.
The HGF also welcomed a special visitor. Ben Dickinson (@benjiballer5) who in March walked from Inver Park, Larne to Old Trafford, Manchester, spent the morning with us along with his dad Andrew. Jane Gregg, who walked the first day in Larne and the last day in Manchester was so pleased that Ben and Andrew had the opportunity to come and visit us to see what ‘we do’ at the University of Ulster, Coleraine.
Ben had the opportunity to meet with teams and coaches (special thank you John Bustard and Jason Quigley) that had sent messages of support to him during his journey. He also got a chance to catch up with Jonathan McCrudden, HGF Trustee, whom he had previously met at the start of his walk in Larne and some of our other Trustees Peter Morrow and Maurice Bradley who had supported him on his journey.
A big thank you to everyone who made Ben and his dad Andrew feel so welcome at the small sided games centre, especially Portstewart 2010 who ‘gave him a game’. We hope you will be back again soon!
